I wonder if the problem is at my site or the server? I am shown as having received 2264 errors in the last few days on different machines not just one. The error reads: Download Error. In addition, I have not received any credits for the last daily update which is unusual for my station since there are over 331 waiting for validation. Could it be Server Error? I am pointing this out just in case it is and you are not aware of it..

Further to what I said in message 1165, the situation has now changed. Not because the Admins have not answered fast enough but because I genuinely feel that most Project Admins, Project Scientist and Project testers have too much on their to do list to maintain the project and as such do not talk to the Volunteers often enough to advise them what is going on. The News folder is often empty for weeks to months yet there is a problem and they are aware of it. Some don't even bother to answer a Message. Unfortunately, they have no time for doing everything on their own.

My personal opinion is that the days of BOINC as we know it is numbered due to the influx of cell phones, tablets etc. They are not efficient enough to contribute to the ideals of BOINC and as the cost of Electricity raises so does the support for BOINC go down.

For this reason I just returned over 1500 WU's and placed this project in No more Tasks. I am sorry to say that I can not support a project that only updates their credits and do not export but once a day. In that 24 hours, I would have spent over $80.00 just to support this project yet I will not know that I have wasted that money because the work is in error, and it is not given credit for it. We have been told that this will not change until a new Server is found. Until than I will watch and see...I am moving to another project that is more reliable.

My apologies. I quoted $80.00 for the cost of Electricity in my previous message. Due to miscalculations, it is in fact just over $20.00 a day. Even so, should I work this project or any project for three months since we are billed quarterly, it is $1,800.00 and clearly this is not sustainable when we do not get sufficient support to say what is going on and especially so when you are on a pension...

Good luck guys, keep on crunching and have a nice day...

I thought that the errors would be only on first WUs of current batch but it seems that they are in many. But it is no easy to solve this if many these WUs were finaly sent.
And I can't be still here to answer soon.

It is always the same team, where this kind of talking comes from.
Interesting.

cykodennis: yes, quite curious.
Besides there're many other threads on the subject. Just look for them.

We need Dagorath to tell his opinion on the matter. Maybe he is retired and having a peaceful life watching flowers grow in beauiful prairies...
As it seem, Dagorath's hell is no longer available.

Must admit I miss his commentaries
