Last night (California time) I d/l'd 69 WUs, of which 21 failed with <permanent HTTP error>. This is after >600 successful downloads to the same client Today all Asteroids downloads are failing. Upload & reporting of completed work is unaffected. Also after each failed download episode, the client is fetching a new scheduler list. Workunit details are typically listing multiple failed downloads.

Stderr of failed downloads reads (e.g.,):
<core_client_version>7.2.5</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
WU download error: couldn't get input files:
<file_xfer_error>
<file_name>input_17191_33</file_name>
<error_code>-224</error_code>
<error_message>permanent HTTP error</error_message>
</file_xfer_error>

</message>

Other projects are downloading without issue.

Illegitimi non carborundum.

Thanks; I don't ususally look at stale (4 month old) threads for problems that (apparently re-)emerged yesterday. Silly me.

I won't question Kyong's logic in letting it play out this way, since it's his database getting hammered.

I was thinking about it and it would be better to let it compute than cancelling all those WUs. It should be about 20 % of these bad WUs, so I would have to let it compute all later. If you can, just cancel of these WUs, it shoulndn't take long clear the queue.

The failed work units began for me a day or two ago. Initially is was about 10% of the work units would fail in the down load. now it is 80 per cent or more

I've been having problems of Failed Downloads too; but only on Random ones. I think it may have something to do with TREND Micro Security, because I have been seeing Warning Messages Pop Up from TREND. The strange thing is, the rest of asteroidsathome Download are Unaffected. surely I don't need to Type In the Address of everyhing that Fails in the Exceptions List on TREND. That wouldn't make sense, because each is different. And if I just type in asteroids@home it may not recognise all the different Tasks as being SAFE.
It has happened a few times before (over the past couple of weeks or so), but usually when I'm not in front of my Computer. And when I return, there is a TREND Icon on The Toolbar which displays a separate Warning Popup for each Rejected Download. Each time I Click the 'OK' or 'Proceed Anyway' Button, and it shows The Next One.

Any Ideas?

Below is a section of my recent Event Log with the affected items in Bold.

It's false warning or maybe warning about error when downloading. For more info about these errors see previous posts.

I think that most of damaged workunits are gone now (fingers crossed). New workunits were added also.
