I just recently joined this project, and noticed that the tasks seem to fail on a few of my systems. On my Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 system they work fine. However, the tasks on the Kindle Fire and the Linux Ubuntu systems run for a few seconds, then go to 100% with the status "Computation Error". Is there a way to fix this? Is this specific to the OS, or just my system?

If it matters, the Linux Ubuntu system is actually just an external drive that I boot from on an old computer. (No internet on that one, so I boot on one with internet, download tasks, then boot on the one without internet)

Just an afterthought: What happens to the tasks that fail to complete? Are they re-assigned to someone else?

Yes, every task that either fails or gets aborted automatically gets resent to someone else. It's a normal everyday thing with some pc's to have units that fail, some pc's trash ALOT of units, some pc's don't trash hardly any, but most pc's trash one every now and then. Trashing a unit can be because the pc reset itself mid crunching and the unit couldn't restart as it should have, because of user error, people overclocking beyond the safe limits for crunching, etc, etc.
