Someone hasn't finished them yet. Some of the tasks weren't finished in time so they have to be processed again.

You completed the tasks on time but some of your your wingmen did not. Explanation...

Each task must be crunched by 2 computers then the 2 results are compared. If the results match then the task is validated. You completed the tasks on time but the other computers (your wingmen) did not. For example look at the details for this task. You are host 9536 and you completed the task on time but your first wingman, 9390, allowed the task to go past the deadline. He was a bad wingman. Then it was sent to your new wingman, 7892. If 7892 returns a successful result and it matches your result then the task will verify. If 7892 returns an error result then it will go to a 4th computer.

Some projects send the tasks to only 1 computer instead of 2 because they don't need to compare 2 results to get validation.

If you click on my name then view my computers and my list of tasks you will see that I also have tasks that are waiting for validation. Everybody does. That is the way this project works, it will never change, this is the only way they can validate tasks.

EXCUSE MY DELAY, MY TASKS ARE PROBABLY LATE FROM THIS COMPUTER, MY OPERATING SYSTEM CRASHED AND I LOST ALL DATA,INCLUDING BOINC/BERKELEY DATA,THANKS TO A VERY NAUGHTY VIRUS.I MANAGED TO KEEP IT FROM SPREEDING TO THE OTHER 7 COMPUTERS
AND SHOULD HAVE ALL THE PROJECTS ADDED BACK ON THE 8500XT IN A FEW HOURS OR LESS.

Anthony,

Please turn off your Caps Lock. When you type in all capital letters like that it means you are yelling and you don't have to yell here. We can hear you just fine. Also, text in all capitals (upper-case) is harder to read than lower-case text. If you continue to post in all upper-case you might be ignored.

It's polite of you to apologize but there is no need. The tasks on that machine expired (went past the deadline) and were sent to a different computer. No problem. It happens all the time and the project server is well equipped to deal with it.

You mentioned your 8500XT. I assume that is a name you gave one of your computers and you probably see that name in your list of computers attached to this project. We can see that list too but we cannot see the names you assigned to your computers, for privacy reasons. Try clicking on my name and then my list of hosts. See... no names visible to you. If you keep clicking you can see the tasks I've received and other details.

Those are just a few tips for you because I see from your Projects List that you are fairly new to BOINC. You have some very nice hosts! Welcome to BOINC and to the Asteroids project :-)
