I'm using portable version of BOINC client (http://www.inshame.com/2011/04/boinc-portable-v2.html) for computing on different computers. I have successfully participated in Help Conquer Cancer (one of World Community Grid projects). But there are some problems with participating in Asteroids@home.

I have two computers for crunching: one of them - for downloading/uploading tasks, and another for computing. Change of computers is cause of errors, and tasks doesn't run.

How this problem can be solved?

No, Boinc is designed to prevent this.

According to the page you linked to its based upon 6.10.60. Kinda out of date now, given the current release version is 7.0.28 with a newer version in the works at the moment.

Dotsch has a version he put on a small Linux partition you could use on a USB memory stick, but looking at the web page it's even older. The site is here

Maybe you download on 64 bit OS and try to run on 32 bit OS ?

What exe do you see?
What are permissions on the directory/files?
