I had to turn off the website. I was transferring database to a new server. I am sorry that I didn't write any notice about that but I really didn't know when I had time to do the transferring and I didn't want to let it wait till I would know in advance.

No problem, I just wanted to point to a possible upcoming fault.

And AMD, finally, starts to publish OpenCL 2.0 examples,....waiting for SDK

Does that mean you're about to write an openCL app which should run on all platforms (including Intel with sw dp support and arm)?
If yes, pm me your address, I'll send you a present when it's up and running ...

I have removed the next_rpc_delay setting.

Seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks Kyong!

And special thanks from me to BilGb for finding the cause!

+1!

works very quick now!

Also I've set all messages marked as read I see 15 to 20 messages marked yellow, which means not read.
Not a big problem, just wanted to point to that.

Is it just me, or is the website running really slow? Every page I try to open on Asteroids@home takes 1 to 5 minutes to load (that's no exageration). Every other website I go to opens immediately.

No, the same for everyone. Server is at his limits, but in the last weeks at least stable.
Project is driven by only three persons, so the headroom for improvements is between limited an not existent, but the project works and produces real results.

Here is another thread to read for you:
http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/forum_thread.php?id=131

The nVidia GPU's are not well suited for double precision, this is one reason why there is little or no gain when using them. AMD works better with dp, but there is no app at the moment.
Many people are waiting to see an openCL app.

Feeder and db_purge are down again.

Kyong, could you please post here what new or additional hardware could help making this project stable with some headroom for increasing load?

BilBG started to post the word 'Donation', Mikey responded direct to that. So maybe the volunteers can help where bureaucracy fails to respond adequate.

People with millions of credits, do you have thousands of old task records?

My record says 3040 valids. Did not check all of them, as it gets slower and slower moving back in 'time'.
But for shure, I don't need them!

As the server gets more and more unstable it looks like a major step is necessary.
Did anyone of the project dev's, admins or whoever is responsible for the system think about a replacement? Out of disc space is something that is very common and could be solved by a number of hard drives.
As a quick solution: is it necessary to keep so many results accessable for us crunchers? If a wu is validatet it no longer makes sense to look at it, these results could be deleted. Should save some GB.

Who are the people behind this project? The main page gives no further names or contacts. Kyong needs headroom to solve his personal problems (best whishes!) and all the weight of running a project lies on his sholders, even during vacation. This is a management problem.

Yes, upload worked, but all attempts do download wu's result in errors.

Edit: forget that, right now I've got 3 wu's.

You'll probably get some WUs soon. I just got two days worth on two machines. Doubtless that the server is pretty busy right now with the rush of demand we're placing on it.

workflow seems to be back to normal.

We have now two volunteers who try to make OpenCL app for AMD cards. Next I'm so busy at work for now. If both of them failed to do OpenCL app, I will do one.

So I guess I'm out here :-(
