Damn Dago, you're becoming weak and nice :-)

I am unsure with this creditthing. I'm just here because there is work to be done. But obviously, yeah, this credits symbolize how much work i've done.
Call me stupid, i know it's not very rational, but i'm from the working class, i like fair recognition for finished work.
And so, sometimes, this screwed up creditsystems in some projects annoy me a little.
Sometimes. A little.

In my opinion, the project was already running before the "vast majority of crunchers" came.
It's not important, but these "vast majority of trashusing people" babble annoys me a little. Don't want to offend anyone personally.
But from the first day on our Windowsfans cried for a windows application.
They got one. They even got one which crunches faster than the original LINUX App, pushing their RAC in a not very Sportsmanlike way.

And now i have to read something like "uh, do it, we are the vast majority...".
Erm, ignore me. I'm just a little angry.

mitrichr, you did just make a suggestion, it's absolutely okay, don't be bothered.
But i tend to have Dagoraths opinion.

A@H is a fine project.
Even without GPU App and screensavers. You don't have to hurry, Kyong.

Don't buy Bulldozers!

I use one of the smaller Bullis (FX-4100) and tested it with A@H, Cosmology@home, CAS, Einstein, WCG...
It was always the same, the FX-4100 was awfully slow. Every other CPU i am using for BOINC, is much faster than my Bulli (I3-2120 f.e.).
Sometimes 2x or 3x faster!

Confirmed, Windows App seems to be slightly faster.
At least one nice thing about Windows.

I couldn't care less if your RAC is higher than mine. I've kicked your ass where it really counts... in the knowledge department.

Simply true.

I don't think that the hurdle is really so big.
LINUX on these days is able to run very much Windows stuff. I was very surprised when i noticed, that even my favourite games run flawless with the help of wine.

The best method for learning with linux is to erase the windows and install linux only. That's how I started to learn with linux. When I needed to do something I just had to learn it and couldn't just boot to windows to do it.

That's right.

Afaik, there are no plans for a native Windows client. There are alternatives. Please check out the "Windows" section of this message board.

Hello,

When do you expect the work for Windows based computers will be sent out?

Thanks

8172 was mine a few days ago.
It resulted in a computation error after a few hours. Although i don't trust my AMD Bulldozer, it was very reliable before.
A really evil WU :)

Thats the point, friend.
Because of that i've posted the message above. I hope that everybody finishes his WUs as usual, but i'm afraid that some of us have suspended work (not only work fetch).

We are not many actually. Because of that i think everybody here should feel a little bit responsible for the further progress of the project.

It looks like, that some fellow crunchers have misunderstood the situation and suspended their work for A@H.
Friends, please finish your WUs. As Kyong has written, the old tasks have to be finished before the new tasks will be send out.

Even my Bulldozer CPU needs "just" 40 hours for a WU. Even with switching between projects i can not believe that finishing a A@H Wu lasts over 5-7 days, so i'm speculating that some of you have suspended work for A@H.
If thats true, and if the project really has to wait for this old version WUs to be finished, we will get new work in the beginning of september (Deadline+Crunchingtime for resendet WUs).

So please, if i guessed right, finish your actual workunits.
