Have the W/U`s got larger recently,??? i`ve noticed that where i was crunching W/U`s between 1hr 40 i`sh, to 1hr 50 i`sh,that more recently the W/U`s are going beyond 2 hrs, some 2hr`s 30, and i had one W/U take about 3 hr`s.

Having checked my 2 core processor`s temperature, its still running stable as its always done.

As said in the heading, just curious,

Tom.

You know, i started this thread simply to try and understand why my validation pending tasks had increased to about double, while my RAC was falling, down now by about 3000+.

I`ve sat back and watched the responses, at first, i was not complaining, but the more i read the more concerned i have become, and have now started agreeing with those that want limits set on these large scale hosts.

Its been said above, that a lot of projects would love to have the resources of these (in my opinion) over large hosts. however "IF" these hosts end up "timing out" on a large capacity of W/U`s then where`s the gain to the project, it just means those work units will have to be sent out again and take longer to validate.

I guess time will tell, in the mean time my RAC is still falling, now about 100 W/U still awaiting validation,

quick thought, given the amount of hosts and cores under one mans control, and given that the sheer amount of work units that have to be crunched by those hosts and cores,my concern is, that if this person is running several projects other than A&H, i suspect the chances are, that a lot of the A&H work units might well get timed out.

Result, those tasks will have to be sent out again adding to the validation pending times.

Am i wrong???

Is it just me, or are others seeing their validation pending increasing and RAC falling???

My validation pending tasks are double the usual, and my RAC has dropped more than 2000 credits as a result, i`m not complaining at all,i just dont understand why this should be.

I have noted that some of my wingmen are using a lot of processors,32 in some cases, could it be that these guy`s are running so many projects and their daily turn around for A@H is having this effect on my validated results.

Just curious......

regards,

Tom.

There are some big crunchers with lot of tasks in queue.

Thought this might be the case, thanks for the swift reply.

Yes, but it is fixed now. BOINC developers made some mistake in source codes so I had to check what is wrong and correct it. I hope that everything is working now.

Kyong,

reporting tasks still not working for me, tried several times using update, but no joy.

regards,

Tom.

EDIT.....Working now.

There was a collision with older input files due to duplicity of sources. I had to cancel all current workunits and there are currently new workunits adding.

That explains where all my work units went, LOL,

Well, since i started this thread, and now having read all the replies with regard to the temps you guy`s are operating at, i can see my original post, about worries of my CPU running at just 35 deg C or so, was totally unfounded,LOL.

Hi Guy`s,

not being computer literate i guess i`m not helping, but i found this info in my computer system, if it helps.???.

At the moment one core is running at 32 C while the other is around 34/35 C

CPU type GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G2030 @ 3.00GHz [Family 6 Model 58 Stepping 9]
Number of processors 2

not sure this helps or not, and i can only say sorry for not being very computer literate.

best regards,

Tom.

Might be a daft question,??? i dont know, but what is an acceptable CPU temperature, typically my duel core processor is running at about 35 deg C, i do use TThrottle to throttle back if it exceeds 35 C, but i`m totally in the dark in knowing what temperature is safe to use without any possible damage to my processor. Just curious ............
