Post: I crunch numbers using Boinc for Asteroids@home, Seti@home and MilkyWay@home. I've been doing so for years. In the past, I was always aware that my computer was crunching away when I wasn't using my computer because the screensaver was up. However, now that I have a new computer and Windows 10 (Dell Inspirion 17), my computer keeps shutting down, as far as I can tell, despite my preferences being set to allow number crunching for the 3 projects [set at one hour (60 mins) each]. Maybe I just not seeing it correctly, however, what can I do to make sure that when I'm at work or asleep & not on my computer that my computer is crunching numbers for the 3 projects? How can I be sure that it is? Thanks! |
