Well, here we are nearly 3 years later and still no app for the Radeon cards. I would have to guess that those programmers were apparently not able to complete the project. Sad. So much power going to waste.

Many moons ago when I worked in manufacturing, we had a saying, "If you can't do the job, bid out!

I'm getting the feeling if the Administrators of this project can do the job, they should get out of it and let someone more qualified run the project.

You can't start something you can't finish and expect respect from those who do contribute whole heartily.

I continue crunching every day, but my totals are not increasing. Since the assimilators seem to be functioning, do you know what is going on?

Now that is really strange. I could have sworn I saw the post from 6 years ago, but now I've noticed that he has only made 2 posts since he's been here and the other one doesn't seem to exist. Weird!

Very true.

Over six years ago you made the same post as the one above. I sure hope that someone will provide the information you need so that we can all put our AMD/ATI graphics cards to work, FINALLY!!

We already contribute dollars to this effort, it's called the cost of the computers we use to run these Work Units. It's the responsibility of the project owners to supply the working components. Aren't they part of the overpaid universities of the World?

I agree. The total lack of communication from the project managers appears as arrogant, and happens toooo many times, especially in the last month. I'm not whining about the credits fiasco, as credits in themselves are meaningless, serving only as a comparative between crunchers, and the same situation affects all boinc projects. However, the waste of resources (cost of hardware, software, internet charges, electicity), when acknowledgement for work done is ignored, is what annoys a lot of crunchers. It is not enough simply to say the project managers are working on a solution, it would help if a simple daily update could be given so we can make an informed decision as to whether to switch to another project until the problem is resolved. As the previous poster has stated, it's especially galling when we stick with the project during an outage only to find many of the wu's fail to credit because of problems caused by outages.

I couldn't have said it any better. Dittos here.

Already saw that.
Doesn't say much except that they shutdown a bunch of computers.

Thanks for your service.

I meant that they might indicate the true problem and let us know what their solution will be and about how long it might take to fix it. Seeing how we have probably lost many finished work units, they could also update us on whether we will still receive credit for them or are we just spinning our wheels for nothing.

It would be nice though to have someone in charge let us know that they are working on the problem. Seems like just a decent respect for the contributors of this project.

I think they may have got caught with their pants down because of the increase of members due to Seti@Home shutting down. Hopefully they will keep a closer eye on the number of new members they are getting and in most cases, these members usually have multiple computers too.
