Jazzy Gold,

Are you referring to "Suspended by user" on your Projects tab on the right side ?

Or are you looking at your Tasks tab and seeing "Suspended - computer in use" in the third column ?

The situation of the project is really frustrating.
I finally got some work but it seems most of my wingmen are people who grab work for 20 days and are not able to crunch it.
So many of the WUs are aborted by the server. Some before calculation, maybe some later after calculating.

Is it so much work to implement a limit of WUs per host that it cannot be done because of COVID-19 ? Then I better switch to projects against COVID-19.

Can systems that have large numbers of "timed out tasks" on a repetitive basis be restricted to receiving fewer tasks ?

I understand that systems that return high numbers of failed tasks can be restricted.

Are these restrictions "Manual" in implementation ?

Thanks
Bill F

I did not get a reply to the above ? What is the process to restrict users who down load more work than they can do on a repetitive basis ?

Thanks

If you look at the Server Status page there are a lot of Users and Systems with recent credit. With the project being down as long as it was it will take awhile to catch up.

As for the comment that the Big Universities behind these project should take care of the funding.... this Project was created by Astronomical Institute of Charles University in Prague. Below is the URL to the Big university, which is closed due to the Covid situation. They do not appear very big or rich. A lot of High Schools here in the US appear better off.

Each time a new version of an app is released, the average flops is reset. This explains why many of the app have such low average flops.
The server should do better job checking for optimized apps, then again compared to x86_64 and CUDA, the 32bit is somewhat irrelevant.

Ok the relevant part of the 32bit is from my last post. I have an older 32 bit system running Win 7 32bit on an AMD FX(tm)-4130 Quad-Core Processor. That processor is capable of running the Intel x86-compatible CPU 102.13 axv-win7, sse2-win7 or sse3-win7 optimized applications yet the project is loading the un-optimized base Intel x86-compatible CPU 102.10 WU's to it.

Maybe the base app does not need to go away but instead the logic behind application assignment needs to be looked at.

Computer 43810 for this project.

For consideration

Dear Sirs.
I kindly ask you to remove completely from the Asteroids@Home project a non-optimized application for 32 bit systems: https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/apps.php
Look at the page: https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/apps.php where an unoptimized 32 bit application produces 202 GigaFLOPS, when the optimized one for sse2/sse3 just 4 GF an average.
That is, in fact, that turns out that all users of 32 bit systems are crunching for 6 hours with an unoptimized application. In case you remove it, all users will begin to crunch at sse2/sse3-optimized applications in just 2 hours.
In other words, huge opportunities are being lost doing it.
Or maybe is there any explanation to this?

Interesting observation.... Maybe someone can see what the primary System configuration for the unoptimized app is ? Maybe Win XP on very old systems ?

I have one system receiving these old WU's here is the configuration
CPU type AuthenticAMD
AMD FX(tm)-4130 Quad-Core Processor [Family 21 Model 1 Stepping 2]
Number of processors 4
Coprocessors AMD ATI Radeon HD 2300/2400/3200/4200 (RV610) (256MB) driver: 1.4.1734

I would like to ask for WU's for Intel GPU's. Not as plentiful as the big guys but Dell makes a lot of Intel based systems that contain GPU's that crunch other projects quite nicely.
