Hi. Thanks for your work :)

I've hundreds of results waiting to get back to the server...
Unfortunately, most of them have negative deadlines now :( :( :(

Can you set a new (future) deadline for already sent WUs ?

Thanks.

Same here. Is it possible temporary to correct the deadline?

According to what I've read, it is possible to extend deadlines on the server but not possible to tell your computer(s) that they are extended.

It's also possible to tell the server to accept any results returned before the quorum is met, even if they are returned past the deadline.

Same.

How come this keeps happening?

This often means a project does not have enough spare cash to buy another hard drive, but occasionally means that the servers do not have a good place to attach another hard drive.

If it's the first of these, the project could provide an estimate of how much it would cost to buy another suitable hard drive, plus a way to donate toward that cost.

Doesn't A@H BOINC page have a donation tab? I'm not crunching right now so I cant look..
Dratted server wont issue new work due to too many uploads hanging:-(

It does, on the project's home page, and also on the list of project web pages listed under BOINC Manager. I just looked.

It may be fixed. I just saw all the delayed reports from my computers had happened while I wasn't looking.

Boinc can't seem to find my gtx 970 which results in a lot fewer projects being calculated. How can i fix this? All my drivers are up to date

I've also seen that problem if you installed the Microsoft version of the driver instead of the Nvidia version, or if you have installed a new graphics board but have not reinstalled the driver since.

The Microsoft versions of the Nvidia drivers usually have support for OpenCL removed.

All my workunits not have the output files uploaded, but still aren't able to report that the workunits are finished. In other words, some progress on this problem, but it still isn't completely fixed.

It should never happen. As I read back, it happened more times. Server admin(s) should get/see warnings weeks ago this would going to be happen. Time to buy external HDD array with 3 times the space as it uses now :)

Yes. Now donate the money to pay for that external HDD array.

On another subject, I'm now seeing signs that a FEW of the delayed uploads and reports are finally happening today. A rather small percentage of them so far, though.

Could the server program that checks for overdue tasks be modified in a way that should reduce the disk load somewhat?

Whenever it finds a task past its deadline, it should send out another copy only if the last file upload or task report rejected due to low free disk space was at least 24 hours ago. If the last rejected upload or report was less than 24 hours ago, it should extend the server's copy of the task's deadline by 24 hours instead.

This should reduce the number of tasks sent out only because the computer it was sent to could not upload the output files or report that the task was finished. One of my computers already spent time on a task that would not have been needed if this was done.

up!!! i have ready works and i need send them not later 8 march...8 Mar 2017, 11:04:38 UTC

and what to do if is not repaired server?

Could all the deadlines be extended by the length of the uploads outage?

Note that if this is done, the new deadlines are likely to show only on the server, not on the computers of those who are participating.

I can't upload today. Are there space issues (no pun intended!) again? Thanks!

This happened on weekend when no one can fix this quickly, so this is space-time issue ;)

It looks like the project needs to gather some statistics on which of the server programs increase the disk space in use the most, and then write a script to shut down those programs if free disk space falls below a certain amount.

Note that today is no longer on a weekend.

Downloads are less frequent than before, but have resumed.

Looks like someone on the project needs to write a program or script that will watch for free space below a certain point, and if it happens, automatically start the actions needed to free up space. If nothing else can be done automatically, at least stop sending out more tasks, except any for which sending out the task and getting the resulting uploads will free up space.

This program or script could treat space to upload any work sent out so far as reserved, and therefore stop sending out more work just before there is not enough free space to upload the work sent out so far.

Solution found if you have GEFORCE Experience installed - start it. Either tell it to install a newer driver, or click on the three dots to the right of the message telling you which driver you have installed, and tell it to reinstall the driver.

This tells it to install the Nvidia version of the driver, with the OpenCL interface, instead of the Microsoft version, which usually does not have the OpenCL interface.

WARNING - the latest round of 64-bit Windows 10 updates appears to have blocked BOINC from finding the OpenCL interface to my GT 440. The CUDA interface does not seem to be affected.

Server out of disk space, 5-24-16... have approx 30 units ready but cannot upload... hopefully will still get credit for these as they will be past due when uploading is possible again...

Most BOINC projects give credit for workunits returned late, but only if the quota of results needed for verification has not yet been met by workunits previously returned. However, I have no information also does this.

Lol.

Same problem here, about to run out of WUs so I'm going to enable another project.

One way to do the equivalent in a more automatic fashion: Enable another project, but with a share of 0%, so that workunits from the other project will be downloaded only after trying and failing to download at least one from this project.

Thanks - pausing this workunit got it out of the hang at 23.949% progress.

http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/result.php?resultid=114661573

It wasted about a day of GPU time before I noticed the hang, though.

The problem appears to be in the 364.* series of Nvidia drivers, and most often triggered by a POEM@home task. Once the problem is triggered, a few dozen OpenCL tasks (not necessarily all from the same BOINC project) will give a quick Compute Error, or the whole computer can lock up.

Threads on the problem:

https://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=6769#94223

http://boinc.fzk.de/poem/forum_thread.php?id=1205#10896

The 362.00 driver does not appear to cause this problem.

The 365.10 driver is now available, but does not fix this problem.

The problem has also been seen on PrimeGrid.
