Am a private investor on the UK stock market.
Into gaming these days since retiring at age 53.
Have just started running Asteroids@home after building a new PC machine which uses a twin 258Mb SSD drive in RAID0 with Intel 5i processor set to runat slowest setting of 3.4 Ghz.
I have always been with Seti since circa year 2000.
It used to take 157 hrs to crunch a Seti unit - now takes just 40 minutes to crunch 4 units! |

After the Russian meteor event in early 2013, I felt we need to know more, track more and be ready for any near earth objects catcing us out.
Maybe the basic survival instinct kicking in ?
Either way , my pc is always on and doing little apart froom tracking stocks - so plenty of cspare 1omputing power to share out between Seti & Asteroids@Home. |
