I am a former garbage man from Alliance, Ohio. I have done graduate work in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology. I have a B.A. in History with a minor in Russian. I also have an A.A. degree. I am an IT support person and I build my own equipment. I am an Industrial Maintenance man and Mechanic. I am an equipment operator and truck driver. I am a carpenter/builder and remodeler of historical houses.
My hobbies are reading and backpacking. I have interests in physics, quantum physics, and sub-quantum kinetics. Also, linguistics, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and NLP. I have studied German, Russian, Latin, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Farsi, Babylonian, Akkadian, Sumerian, Assyrian, Egyptian, and Ugaritic.
I am still married to my wife of 40 years. |

I like Asteroids@home because, beyond the obvious reason of developing a defense against a major strike, I suspect that there is a wealth of resources to be found in them.
I feel this project is important primarily if mankind ever does attain true space travel, these objects and millions of others are going to need to be mapped. Several of the other BOINC projects are equally important for the same reason. It may not be clear as yet how all these projects will play into such a scenario, but having this data processed and recorded cannot hurt. It may all start with us. Perhaps mankind will not destroy itself beforehand. MWP |
