Your personal background.
Hi, I´m a guy from Germany and I currently run BOINC only on my old Smartphone.

Below are notes for myself, but maybe you still find it interesting:

My Smartphone Modell is "Alpha" from the Brand Maze (which went out of Business unfortunately).
I got it 2017 for only 130 EUR.
For such a cheap phone, it´s subjectively faster than the S5neo when browsing.
It uses a Mediatek P20 ( MT6757 ) CPU:
Arm Cortex-A53
Max CPU Frequency: 2.3GHz
Octacore (8);64-bit; 16nm TSMC (FinFET)
Heterogeneous Multi-Processing: Yes

https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/mediatek/helio/mt6757

My not very exact powermeter says, it uses between 1-4 Watt (It can charge the battery during 100% CPU use while not exceeding 4W, with a 4wmax adaptor).
If I understand the data below correctly, it performs with 2554 Mega FLOPS= 2.5 GFLOPS http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=653009

or 16.19 GFLOPS http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/host_app_versions.php?hostid=653009

Thoughts about power /eco efficiency:

I hope the 16 GFLOPS are correct for the whole 8 cores and all projects, that would make 4-16 GFLOPS/Watt.
The "Green 500" List of energy efficient supercomputers shows values between 12-16 GFLOPS/Watt. https://www.top500.org/green500/lists/2019/11/

The disadvantage of BOINC and other distributed computing in terms of electricity use is, it´s often done in duplicate or triplicate to double /trible check for errors or manipulations.
The good thing is, I now use the waste heat for my apartment, while computer centers often actively blow it out (at least I did not hear, that it would be standard to use the waste heat to support a community heating /warm water plant).
Another good thing is, it saves the energy and climate gases used in fabricating new processors (and I heard that the production of PCs can have a bigger eco impact than the electricity during use).
And I am paying for renewable electricity, with the German "ok Power"Label.
(This guarantees that 1/3 of the contracted renewable PV /Wind hydro power plants are junger than 6 years to make sure this is built up additionally...)

I have a 12 year old Core duo Laptop, I guess 65nm ish (T2300), it fan is noisy and I am not sure if it is still a power efficient calculator.
1 kWh electricity In Germany in 2020 is around 0.30 EUR.
