You won't get *any* tasks of any kind until the Project Administration/University fix the INTERMEDIATE SSL CERTIFICATE ISSUE that has prevented BOINC from downloading or uploading tasks for about 2 weeks now.

There's several open topics in the forum. Below is just one of them.
Certificate error in Linux BOINC

Note this issue is not affecting the forums - ONLY BOINC.

For the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, you need to use a custom application because the Blackwell architecture isn’t officially supported yet. You can download it from: https://github.com/ahorek/PeriodSearch/tree/blackstock/builds

copy binaries to
/var/lib/boinc/projects/asteroidsathome.net_boinc

add app_info.xml
<app_info>
 <app>
    <name>period_search</name>
 </app>
 <file_info>
  <name>ps_linux_10222_x64_universal_Release</name>
  <executable/>
 </file_info>
 <file_info>
  <name>ps_linux_cuda13100_v10222_Release</name>
  <executable/>
 </file_info>

<app_version>
    <app_name>period_search</app_name>
    <version_num>10221</version_num>
    <avg_ncpus>1.000000</avg_ncpus>
    <plan_class></plan_class>
    <file_ref>
        <file_name>ps_linux_10222_x64_universal_Release</file_name>
        <main_program/>
    </file_ref>
</app_version>

<app_version>
    <app_name>period_search</app_name>
    <version_num>10217</version_num>
    <avg_ncpus>0.010000</avg_ncpus>
    <plan_class>cuda118_linux</plan_class>
    <file_ref>
        <file_name>ps_linux_cuda13100_v10222_Release</file_name>
        <main_program/>
    </file_ref>
    <coproc>
        <type>CUDA</type>
        <count>1</count>
    </coproc>
</app_version>
</app_info>

and restart the boinc client

Scratch that I have forced it and its grabbed some, I have 3 projects that can do GPU the other two are on 0 resource share but were still getting tasks ahead of Asteroids, my understanding was that on 0 they would only get tasks when Asteroids were out of units?

bonjour

hello
I tried but it didn’t work on my pc. Personally, I believe that we don’t have to hack our facilities to make the projects work. It is the job of the people who manage this project to keep them up to date. They are provided with computers and they do not know how to take advantage.
There is another project (that I would not mention) that is a priority for me and has also been doing anything for about a year.

To be honest, Blackwell cards are better utilized elsewhere, and I completely agree that there should be official support instead of relying on custom apps... but I’m not a server admin

good evening would you have a trick to put in an appconfig.xml or cconfig.xml to get around the problem because I can’t find a permanent solution even with chatgpt eu claudeai. I can just disable my 2000 blackwell in the device manager,start boinc, load 100 units for my rtx 4000 ada.reactivate the blackwell, restart boinc and so on.

There are not so many science BOINC GPU Projects out there with work for 5xxx cards ^^ GPUGrid (dry), Einstein (just meerkat at the moment for small GPUs) and that was it, so i understand everybody like me, who would love Asteroid support for these cards even to have a science Backup Project available overall xD

And yeah the reward system is not in faviour of powerful GPUs here i know :/

But the golden Age of BOINC seems fading so we could be happy to have anything to crunch left.. ^^

The project server status page shows zero tasks, i.e. none for either cpu or gpu.
