Is anyone running multiple work units on a single GPU?
I know that this is a viable option on the einstein@home project.
I tried using an app_config.xml file to instruct BOINC to run 2 GPU work units at once. It did work but unfortunately reduced the overall performance on both cards I tried it on.
I tried it on a gtx 4070 and a gtx 1070. Both computers running Windows 11. Crunching 2 WUs at once works but it takes more than twice as long to complete them. In other words, crunching 1 work unit at a time is faster.
Just curious if anyone is running multiple gpu work units at once and if they are seeing any efficiency gains.
Thank you

possible? yes.
faster? no.

There may be some improvement when using Petri’s app in combination with MPS.
