I have been confused as to why my completed WU count has not increased from 240, when I have done at least a dozen more. Checked my results page and see there are a lot of "started too late" and "completed, missed deadline" messages ( or words to that effect ) What's the point then of me participating if i can't get a WU turned around fast enough ? |

It looks like you have downloaded too many to process. What are your cache setting? The atom isn't the fastest CPU around so you would probably want a minimal cache setting like zero and zero. 1) The 'task cache' is set here (and means total work from all the projects): http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/prefs.php?subset=global Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least XX days (set this to 1-2) ... and up to an additional YY days (set this to 0.1) (but if you set any value in BOINC Manager - all they (local preferences) are in effect, not the values from the web page) 2) Your CPU needs 25-40 hours to compute an Asteroids@home task. Do you see the same range of estimated time for not started tasks? ![]() ![]() |
