Would an Admin please take a look at my account? I somehow seem to have two active computers in separate profiles joined to the same team, using the same email address and the same password, yet still be somehow different?? And looking under the account with a profile created shows both machines(which it should)? Confusing..

Thanks.

This happens over and over and people always blame it on a database glitch. 99.9% of the time it's because they're using 2 different email addresses with one of them being a typo'd version of the proper email address. For example the proper email address is crunchman@crunchnet.com and they add a project to their profile using that email address. Later they delete that project then re-add it but when they re-add they type the email address incorrectly, for example crunchmam@crunchmet.con Poof! They now have 2 accounts (profiles) each with a different email address and each showing the same computer. How do they get both accounts joined to the same team? Additional blunders and typos,

Remember:

1) BOINC doesn't check to see if your email address is a valid email address so if you type it incorrectly BOINC will never know. I think the only check it does is a check to see if it contains an @.

2) BOINC pays no attention to your user name. It will allow a user named bob567, for example, to have 101 different profiles (accounts) named bob567 as long as each one uses a different email address.

3) BOINC pays no attention to passwords. You can have multiple accounts at the same project, each one with the same user name and npassword, as long as the email address is different for each account.

In other words, only the email address is relevant and if you type it wrong at the right time some very strange things happen. Type it, check it, check it again before you click OK or hit ENTER. q and g look very similar, as do l and 1, O and 0 (capital o and zero) 3 and B, F and P, etc.

In short: never type email address - copy/paste it from 'trusted' source (e.g. the web page of the email account)

You created two Asteroids@home accounts.
No, it's not possible they are "using the same email address".
No, it's not possible to merge them.
Choose one and add (attach) both computers to it.

Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction. Though busy these last few weeks, I'm correcting the issue now.

I hate to admit it but I too had the same problem a while back and have since created a small file on my pc with my username, password and email address in it just for my Boinc accounts. I am sure LOTS of us have had to create small 'teams' just so we could get all of our accounts in one place. The key is to only use one account going forward, unless for some reason you need to use more then one, as that will consolidate all your credits in one place. At one project I actually have THREE accounts in my 'mikey team', but now only crunch using one of them!!
