Result upload is often not affected by the maintenance but if it worked, the data are available for the validator (if not, the BOINC client will retry the upload later). As long as the scheduler accepted the reporting of the results, they will be counted. If the scheduler has not been running anymore when you tried to report, your BOINC client will retry that and it will succeed, as soon as the scheduler is back. So no, you will not lose anything and yes, credits will be granted later. |

Yeah, I saw the maintenance announcement Friday night about it being scheduled to occur on July 28th; at the time I thought it was a little strange to announce a month ahead of time, but better than a day or so! Had I known it really was to begin a day later, I'd have increased my buffers a little. Too late now. :( |

Thus it did begin a little over 20 minutes after it was announced. |

Regardless, it was originally posted as beginning a month later, so it was still too late to change buffers. :/ |

Last modified: 1 Jul 2014, 10:52:39 UTC Are there any more info about whet the manteinance will finish? Front page now says hopefully midnight, so he is monitoring it. What I did was go in and set a project to zero percent, meaning it will NEVER run unless Asteroids is out of work AND it will not get any more work then can run immediately. It gets one unit and then returns one unit, or in my case get 5 units, crunches those 5, returns them and gets 5 more. As time goes on though each unit is slightly variable in how long it takes, I am doing Malaria, so it goes back to 1 unit at a time. The zero percent number means that as soon as Asteroids is back up and running I will get units from it, filling my cache if possible, and then Boinc will handle the deadlines of the two projects for me. |

To be fair, although there was only 20 minutes notice (probably due to impending catastrophic failure) the web pages and message boards are still up and running, so we haven't been left in the dark like some projects that just totally disappear. Cheers, Al. |

Yea I hope it'll be back up soon too, I've got 36 results rdy for u/l which expire 2/7/14 18.34! And then a load more for 3/7/. They were finished yesterday/day before & were only crunched late because I started another project & BOINC shunted the remaining WUs back. Fortunately I'd already stopped A@H from getting new WUs (stopping A@H for a couple of months or so to crunch R@H). Team AnandTech - SETI@H, Muon1 DPAD, Folding@H, MilkyWay@H, Asteroids@H, LHC@H, POGS, Rosetta@H, Einstein@H,DHPE & CPDN Main rig - Ryzen 3600, 32GB DDR4 3200, RX 580 8GB, Win10 2nd rig - i7 4930k @4.1 GHz, 16GB DDR3 1866, HD 7870 XT 3GB(DS), Win7 |

Well, maintenance has been expected to end around midnight. Nobody said sth about a date ;) To get credits or not is of secondary interest. It just would be too bad about wasted energy if results would not be accepted after the deadline runs out (July, 6th in my case) :(
