My Machine has 4 cores, the keyboard does not stutter. It's going to be a week soon and your server still aint working. Perhaps I should just dump the WU's and dump the project and go elsewhere. It's obvious to me you guys aren't up for the task to keep things running smoothly.

Last modified: 17 Aug 2014, 18:07:47 UTC Stop moaning. All projects suffer glitches from time to time. True, but nearly every project has more than one person able to correct issues and even if not, at least able to communicate and let people know what's going on and when it may be fixed. That rarely happens here. If I had just one machine running the project, I'd be more patient but I have access to quite a few more resources so I don't want them sitting idle or unable to process if I'm going to make the time to manage and use them for someone else's project. So I'll moan if I want to. Every hear of "Squeaky wheel gets the grease." Same here - if not, it's time to go elsewhere, which I'd happily do if yours is the attitude of others. |

Stop moaning. All projects suffer glitches from time to time. And Kyong had a person, he even tried to fix it, so did Kyong remotely, it's just the problem wasn't fixable by the backup person or by remote. It is now up and running so everyone should be happy again. |

No one is forcing you to be here, and I have little doubt that some wouldn't mind if you weren't. |

As the server gets more and more unstable it looks like a major step is necessary. Did anyone of the project dev's, admins or whoever is responsible for the system think about a replacement? Out of disc space is something that is very common and could be solved by a number of hard drives. As a quick solution: is it necessary to keep so many results accessable for us crunchers? If a wu is validatet it no longer makes sense to look at it, these results could be deleted. Should save some GB. Who are the people behind this project? The main page gives no further names or contacts. Kyong needs headroom to solve his personal problems (best whishes!) and all the weight of running a project lies on his sholders, even during vacation. This is a management problem. Alexander |

As the server gets more and more unstable it looks like a major step is necessary. About new disks and info about the result records http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/forum_thread.php?id=347&postid=3576 http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/forum_thread.php?id=351&postid=3577 About the people, we are 3 people in behind of the project but I am the only one who take care of the server. So if there is a problem and I am not here, than it has to wait till I am able to solve a problem which happened while my holiday. |
