Last modified: 20 Jul 2014, 10:10:08 UTC Currently sched_reply looks like this : <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <html><head> <title>500 Internal Server Error</title> </head><body> <h1>Internal Server Error</h1> <p>The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.</p> <p>Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.</p> <p>More information about this error may be available in the server error log.</p> <hr> <address>Apache/2.2.22 (Debian) Server at asteroidsathome.net Port 80</address> </body></html> even though it looks just normal, when I open the scheduler URL in a browser p.s.: uploads and web pages are not affected, it's just the scheduler URL that acts up |

I have already wrote to BOINC developer discussion. According to log it started after BOINC server upgrade. There is some problem with bad requests from some clients which causes failures but I don't know why. It must be something that were changed in BOINC server code that identifies it.

Last modified: 20 Jul 2014, 20:16:09 UTC One more information : The error happens after accepting the reported results. A lot (if not all) of the finished results that I still have here on my hosts are not "in progress" in the server result lists anymore so reporting must have worked. So currently nothing gets lost, I cannot receive more work though. edit : I just reported this one, despite of the error message, it has arrived on the server |

Exactly the same here! With different client- and os versions. But some run out of work soon. |

Exactly the same here! Mine ran out early yesterday, I keep a 3/4 day cache, and I am now crunching for other projects until it comes back up. I may wait a few days his time around though, I brought all my machines back right away after the last outage and then had to move them again. |

Does that happen with all your machines? I see you're using different BM versions. The reason why I ask is simple: not long ago after reinstalling my mainsys I was not able to reattach to the skynet pogs. I usually use latest development version. I posted my problems at pogs and got a hint to switch back to the latest official version. That helped. Then I posted the problem in the boinc forum. It turned out that after a server code upgrade at pogs the https data transfer failed due to missing or wrong certificates. So maybe the new server code requires a https transfer and the project is set up to try a http transfer? The message on my side says: 21.07.2014 16:36:35 | Asteroids@home | Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error |

... So maybe the new server code requires a https transfer and the project is set up to try a http transfer? ... I don't think so. If it required secure socket, it would be an all or nothing, it should reject the request instead of accepting the reported results and then throwing the error. My core version is ancient btw., not even close to a developers version ;-) |

I keep a minimum work buffer of 3 days regardless of the project, and with this project in particular(based on experience) an additional 2 days. If I were only managing 1 or 2 machines, it wouldn't be an issue to switch to another project, but when you're managing dozens it's a bit more tedious. |

None of developers has written about the problem. I tried the replacing scheduler with older version but it wasn't working due to another dependencies. I hope the will check it soon. If not I'll try tomorrow replace all server parts to older version so I hope it will work. I store all source codes from specific date I upgrade the server so the I can use them if there is some problem with newer.

I try to always use no less then the latest release version, but on some machines do have the latest, or nearly the latest, test version loaded. I like to see what is coming and kinda grow into the new versions if they are much different then the old ones. To be honest rarely does our side cause those kinds of problems, yes they can happen, but more often then not it is the Server side that is having problems. Apparently the Admins do alot of changes when they install it, or have a ton of options to choose from and sometimes choose poorly. I am not an Admin so have never even seen the Server side software, not that I would know what to do with it anyway. As far as Asteroids it is NOT on your end, Kyong is having some personal issues going on right now and can't babysit the machine when it goes wonky, and for some reason it is doing that alot lately. As of this morning, my time on the East Coast of the US, I am able to send back all of my Asteroid units just fine. so he did get that part fixed at least. I do not know if he fixed the get units part or not as I have switched to doing PG units with most of my cpu's for right now. |
