I am running CPU tasks on my Dell Win 10 PC. For the last several days, per My Tasks, I have 229 Validations Pending. But when I go Status, it indicates that only 3 workunits are waiting for Validation. In addition, on Boinc Stats, my daily task numbers for this project are down as well. What do I need to do to fix this?

I have the same issue- a bunch of tasks say Validation Pending on the tasks list on the site. The oldest one was reported on 03 April. I don't think we as crunchers can do anything to validate the tasks.

There is a misunderstanding, which is caused by a bad wording in Boinc. The expression "Waiting for Validation" does not mean the same thing for the site as a whole and for the individual cruncher.

When the site says "Waiting for Validation", it means what it says. Unless the validator is stopped or not working, this number is equal to zero or very low.

When the user's work units are waiting for validation, they are first of all waiting for the wingman to deliver his work units. This has nothing to do with validation in itself and the user has no means to speed up the validation.

In fact, the term used is "Waiting for Validation" when it is the server and "Validation Pending" on the user's profile. "Validation Pending" should be called "Waiting for Wingman".

At this moment, everything seems to run smoothly and work units are validated as soon as the wingman has delivered the corresponding work unit.

At the time of writing (10.04.2020 09:00 UTC) I checked your pendings. The wingman was still in progress in ALL 72 !
Remember - there can be a delay in the project to update your status after the wingman's is updated.

Did you mean SERVER Staus indicates 3 are waiting? As stated, you don't need to worry about that.

I too came here to see if others were having the same issue you mentioned(loss of daily points and a LOT of Validation Pending.)

Don't feel too bad though, with only 229 pending. I have over 1300 pending and only scored 12,000 yesterday. :D

A quick check looks like I have only a handful of wingmen. Maybe they set their preferences to get 5 days worth of tasks. We will just have to wait for them to finish crunching them.

The whole project had some issue yesterday. 10m credit yesterday, 120m today. My pending dropped a lot since yesterday,

I first thought my own low credit on 4/9 was because I had a bunch of threads taken up by tasks that were not using any CPU on 2 different systems. Aborted those and have been fine since. It might have happened to others too.

In general I accept what you say. In this case though there was more than just a delay; work units completed by both parties were dangling without validation for more than a day in some cases.

I think there may have been some problems with the server. Seems now to have been resolved.
