Fixed? I don't think so. I have a large bunch of asteroids that say Uploading but aren't that have been there for days and now I have Cosmology sitting behind them saying "Waiting for network access". My networks seems to be fine so I can only think that Asteroids are holding them up. Asteroids expire on the 11th and if they are not gone by then then I'll deleted them and put Asteroids on hold for a month until things improve. |

I am still unable to upload over 100 completed tasks at 1229 GMT on JUL 9, 2020 and no new downloads have happened in days. We are burning 4 plus kilowatt hours per 24 hours on what could be futile. What if one the completed tasks was an asteroid that changed its orbit to come our way and we missed it? Should we stop running computations for the time being? Looks like they will stop on July 12th GMT if no new tasks are downloaded.

Last modified: 9 Jul 2020, 15:50:09 UTC Admin appears to be crunching if you look at the tasks on his system. Probably his not enabled Stat's export. To Kyong An update would be nice as other projects would like time on my server. If you can't fix it then at least let us know so we can take the appropriate action and come back to "Asteroids" at a later time. Perhaps. Meanwhile we are in limbo land without some sort of time frame/project time line. Dennis |

project should be stable now. Depends on your definition of "stable". A dead cat can be looked on as "stable." This project is not letting results be reported because of an inability to open the log file. It has been in this state for ~ 2 days (with many reports about the problems). So it is stable, but not really usable. |

@Bill F. Admin downloaded a pile of tasks on 8 July 2020 at 10:50 UTC on to his one and only host, which was created on 8 Jul 2020 at 10:50 UTC. None of the tasks has returned a result, and there are no tasks listed before or since. That doesn't look like the profile of an active cruncher, and reflects what can be seen on his User page.

At start, I was going to let all my CPU power reserved only for this project and for the next 2 years (at least)... but seeing those issues which last for way too long... I'm over with it now. So, I'll reconfigure all my BOINC instances to some other projects... even if I don't know which. So bad ? |

Guid eenin crunchers. It's always unfortunate when computers go down, the timing is rarely convenient. However, there still seems to be something that is not yet running optimally. I have about 335 WU processed and ready for delivery, but cannot upload them. There are no new WU coming in, why my computers may be idling soon. Let us hope, the situation may be normalized soon, and we once again may be able to look into a bright and cal future for Asteroids@home. I wish to thank all the pepole involved, who make this project possible. Kind regards Laird o' th' wee White Hoose |

I have a guess at what might happen with these in the current situation. Normally, if you are not done by the deadline, the work unit is assigned to someone else. However, if you finish before they do AND you get it uploaded, it will count and their work will be aborted by the server. However, if this problem of uploading persists and they finish the work, I believe the first one to finally get the work unit uploaded will get the credit. Of course, if you abort your finished work units, you will absolutely lose the work credit. No sense in aborting anything for now. Make sense? Mike |

I guess that I am somewhat lucky as all of my pending WU uploads do't expire until July 11 13:5o GMT -5 Bill F In October 1969 I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; There was no expiration date. |
