Yes, I let the computer run when I'm not using it. So, as for deceiving people, you are dead wrong. Too bad, I had high hopes of helping out, but you just made the determination for me that I can better use my computer elsewhere. |

Unless you were answering the other person, you didn't specify which of us you were talking to. And my computer ID is 272393, I show that it's not even participating in asteroids@home, but BAM says that it is, and I've got an account with asteroids@home. I've looked at my preferences, I'm not running the local preferences, I'm running the preferences that I've saved with BAM. |

You're seeing my credits for asteroids@home, under the ID I was assigned by asteroids@home. My other projects have other IDs, not displayed here. I'm pretty sure it's not in the local settings if the other 3 programs are running under those same local settings. I'll keep investigating, though. All of that is correct. I'm not showing any work units for asteroids@home, when I try to retrieve work units, I don't get any work units. I don't have any problems running the other 3 applications, I'm getting credits for all 3 of them, just nothing for asteroids@home. frustrating..... |

I've had asteroids@home installed and showing in BOINC Manager for some time, with disk space allocated. I've gotten no WUs, I've manually updated and reconnected to the project several times, and the message I get is "Communication deferred for XXX seconds." and then it stops trying. I'm running seti@home, einstein@home, and milkyway@home with no trouble. I'm not limiting the usage times, or amounts, only the percentage of CPU and disk space. I've been running the other 3 applications for several years, and right now, only asteroids@home is giving me no work. I checked the server status and apparently there is work available. I'm pretty sure I didn't overlook anything, but would appreciate any assistance. Thanks, Joe |
