I'm also paranoid about running the machine 24/7/365, even though I have extremely good hardware - if I'm doing something that's heavy enough to kick all of the cooling fans on I usually try not to do that thing for very long. I forget which project I had that had an 80% computation failure rate, because it required 95-100% of CPU time to run.. So I dropped that project. I'll look into POGS. |
