Posted 11 Mar 2013 by peeticek_LubosKrutek Post: Hi to nearly 5000 users, I think everybody will agree if i say, that KYONG did a lot of great work on this project, but some serious support of him is missing. A lot of expwishes from users side, but just one brain and 10 fingers on the admin side. W need to start with serious Donation activities, if we want to push whole thing forward: As long as Donation page isnt finished, cause KYONG worked on ARM APP, ill post all my donations to this thread: peeticek_LubosKrutek: 01.1.2013 -- 10€ 11.3.2013 -- 10€ I believe, that at least 10% of all users will do the same and in near future, this project will be one of the most powerful across the globe :) p. |

If youll try crunch Einstein@home on GTX680, ill recommend do 2 or 3 tasks at the same time - dont hesitate to contact Me directly via peeticek@gmail.com Br and good luck with your wife :] p. |

Posted 13 Jan 2013 by peeticek_LubosKrutek Post: Nice Monster! :) - i wish more users like you in this project.. Btw, what do you crunch on that 680? - gpugrid or Einstein@home would be good choice i think. Its not healthy sleep near a running PC, but if you have a chance to move it somewhere - living room/kitchen, theres no reason why dont do it asap :) Btw - if you run crunch over night, you help with stabilizing of electric grid in your country :) p. |

Posted 13 Jan 2013 by peeticek_LubosKrutek Post: Hi and welcome, What CPU do you have? - I guess 8core from AMD, or 4core with HT from INTEL, Am I right? 8 tasks starts, cause no matter how many cores do you have, one task use just one core. After 2-3hours of crunching, youll get 8 results, so from global perspective, thats the same, if youll finish one task in 1/8th of that 2-3h time. This is how multicore systems works, and its ok :) p. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-core_processor |

Posted 10 Jan 2013 by peeticek_LubosKrutek Post: Same here - 10€ per month is nothing, but cumulative for a year, thats 120€/user! If just 10 people do so, we have 1200€ yearly! Donation list is in progress -- I discussed about that with kyong two days ago. I think there is a huge potential for donations: CZ Universities Czech National Team Czech Astronomical Institute HA-SOFT company --- http://www.ha-soft.cz/veda + 1500 crunchers around the world! So everybody! - dont be pussy and send some bucks :) p. |

Posted 10 Jan 2013 by peeticek_LubosKrutek Post: Active users: 1478 Donations: 2 Credit statistics is completely worthless from scientific perspective, so update once a day is ABSOLUTELY OK. Twice a day would be nice, but i think, there are much more important things to do right now than this. Shiva -- if you really want help in this area: 1. SWITCH OFF your 10k MONSTER for a week and send those saved money to this project via PayPal. 2. START with Donation campaign with one goal -- maximize the number of donations. I mean 5-10USD/€ per person would be OK also for students. If just 20% of active users will do so, youll raise cca 2200USD, which is enough to buy a separate powerful PC just for stats updates + upgrade of existing server.. BTW: project without crunchers cant live! project without programmers would never exist! p. |
