Attaching problem issues solved.

Not solved! Even now my phone can't even get tasks. Somehow it is worse.
I'll stick around for a few weeks more while you work it out, but there are lots of other jobs to be done that I want to crunch for!

Pretty simple.

402 Asteroids@home 4/8/2015 3:56:25 PM Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
403 Asteroids@home 4/8/2015 3:56:25 PM Requesting new tasks for CPU
404 Asteroids@home 4/8/2015 3:56:27 PM Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
405 Asteroids@home 4/8/2015 3:56:27 PM Project has no tasks available

So I guess the easy answer is when you start your own Boinc project you can decide what is best and what isn't.

I have no clue what you mean here. I was merely giving MHO that most people were not likely to try and crunch here given the current issues. As for what other people actually choose to do, I really couldn't care less. I contribute what I can where I can, nothing more, nothing less.

There are more than enough entries on this topic already - why not read them instead of adding to the clutter.

I strongly disagree. No specific task for this renewed problem has yet been established. All we do is to put it under the "News" thread.

But I do agree that this was a bit rude.

The problem is LIFE keeps getting in the way of the Admin figuring it out, every time he sits down to do something about the problem something else comes up. First it was that he switched jobs so he had to move his pc's to his new apartment, then he had to move them someplace else, then someone very close to him passed away, then the people he had asked to help him had no clue how to do it. He has said repeatedly the end is in site, hopefully, and as soon as he gets there he will put in the time to get the problems fixed.

What we have is a struggling project that feels it's better to live with some problems then to be shut down and potentially lose everyone. Some people are reporting a 90% error rate on downloads, that still means 10% of the work is getting done. IMHO 10% is better than none at all!

I understand that the admin is busy but IMHO most people will leave anyway because they won't want to babysit a project that only has a <10% chance of giving them viable tasks. They will simply go to other projects that aren't plagued by issues like this one is ATM.

What is this nonsense. 10 task daily limit on a 2600k? This computer doesn't have an Nvidia GPU.

47589 Asteroids@home 4/1/2015 4:59:00 PM Requesting new tasks for CPU

47591 Asteroids@home 4/1/2015 4:59:02 PM No tasks sent
47592 Asteroids@home 4/1/2015 4:59:02 PM Tasks for NVIDIA GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them
47593 Asteroids@home 4/1/2015 4:59:02 PM This computer has finished a daily quota of 10 tasks

Sounds like too many errors were reported so your work fetch has been throttled, this is standard at alot of projects, but since you have your pc's hidden I am only guessing. As you return valid units your daily quota will climb rapidly, if I am remembering right it's almost doubled every day as long as no more errors creep in again.

Looks the download failure rate is 90%+. I've had 4454 failures to get 413 tasks that can be run since March 19th.
Makes no sense to me why this issue has not been fixed.

Same here, pretty much 100% failure across all my systems.

Same here. I'm done until this is fixed.

Question: Has anyone taken notice of the fact that the issue of the Download Failed issue seems to have returned? After a day of relatively clean downloads, we're back to seeing about 60% - 80% of them fail again. I've had about 1,000 downloads fail in the last day or so.

I don't expect this happens often but I've also had Work Units declared invalid because I processed it but there were 16 or 18 "Error while Downloading" so the WU was dropped due to 20 failures. Examples:
http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/workunit.php?wuid=4842346
http://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/workunit.php?wuid=4842338

Just a thought, but it might be an idea to clear the database of all those download failures.

I can't get any tasks. They all fail to download.

Tried getting new tasks on second machine. Same error. Win7 64 bit.
