The solar system is fascinating. I have an 8" reflector on a Dobson mount and love it. Don't waste your money on one of those cheap department store scopes, OK?


Funny you mention that because one I'm considering is the Orion SkyQuest XT8i. By chance is that the same scope you have?

Bummer. Makes sense, though. Just a shame for our brand new Mac to go to waste in regards to this project. I'm running Asteroids on my other machines, though. Thanks.

I just started in on this project several days ago. As soon as I heard about it I was interested. I'm getting more interested in our solar system and planning on buying my first telescope in the coming months. Anyway, hi from sunny South Florida.
