Your personal background. |
Born in 1974, I've been around the country and seen a bit of the world. I was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. I joined the US Navy at 19 years old and trained in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. After about a year and a half in Orlando, FL, I trained in Charleston, SC for 6 months. After that I was assigned to the USS ENTERPRISE in Norfolk, VA.
After I got out of the Navy in 2000, I bounced around a bit, spending my time in Raleigh, NC and Atlanta, GA. Changes in the economy drove me to a job at the Salem nuclear power plant in New Jersey. Working in New Jersey, I lived in Delaware for about 6 years where I met and married my wife. Problems in our relationship caused me to move to California, and she eventually moved out here with me.
I currently work at the Diablo Canyon Power Plant (another nuclear plant) as a procedure writer. I think I've finally found my niche. It's good work that keeps me interested and it pays well.
All this moving around has engrained in me a love of travel and photography. I currently shoot with a Canon 7D and I haven't traveled much lately because I've been working too hard. |
Your opinions about Asteroids@home |
I run BOINC projects that 1) I believe have the potential to improve the human condition or our understanding of the universe and 2) I have a personal connection with. I'm also a fan of Astronomy, and Asteroids@home directly connects with that passion. |
