Your personal background.
Flooding Is Nearly a Daily Occurrence Throughout the
U.S. Flooding in the U.S. Americans nationwide. And although flooding from
large-scale extreme weather events such as hurricanes tend to grab headlines, they are only part of the nation’s flood story.
According to a new analysis of storm data by The Pew Charitable Trusts, other events, including heavy rains and rapid snow and ice melt,
cause varying degrees of flooding across the country, often inundating homes and businesses,
compromising infrastructure, and impairing local economies.
Pew’s analysis of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Events Database, which includes reports from a variety
of government and nongovernment sources, revealed three themes about the frequency, type, and geographic extent of flood events across the
country over the past two decades. Since 2000,
at least one flood occurred in the U.S. 300 days per year, on average.
The NOAA database also shows that all 50 states and the District of Columbia were affected by flooding
in 2021. This ever-present risk underscores the need
for comprehensive resilience planning that can help safeguard communities and the critical infrastructure they depend on daily, such as roadways, schools, and hospitals.

Make a list of all your online accounts and learn which
ones offer 2FA or multi-factor authentication. You can use
the 2FA Directory to find out which websites and services utilize this important layer
of account authentication to help keep users safe. Get
the Google Authenticator app or a similar tool. An authenticator app is more secure
(than SMS) for 2FA as scammers can take over your phone number using a scam
called SIM swapping. Get an email client that filters spam and alerts you if it suspects spam.
Do not open potentially dangerous emails. Report scam emails to the FTC.
Financial fraud protection. Aura monitors your credit and bank accounts
in near-real time and alerts you of fraud 250x faster
than the competition. Instant credit lock. Lock and unlock your Experian credit file with one click
from your desktop or mobile app. Identity theft protection.
Aura can alert you if an online account has been compromised, will monitor your SSN for signs of fraud, and can even reduce
the amount of spam calls and emails that you receive.
Device and Wi-Fi protection for all your devices. Keep your computer,
phone, and home network safe from hackers with powerful antivirus software and a military-grade Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Family identity theft monitoring for up to five people including children and adults.
1,000,000 in insurance coverage for eligible losses due to identity theft.
If the worst happens, Aura will be there to help you through the needed steps to secure your identity and
get back on your feet. Your email address is the key to your digital life.

According to FEMA, flooding is a factor in more than 90 percent of disaster-related property damage in the United States, with many homes repeatedly damaged by floods.

But actually finding out if a property is flood-prone when house shopping can be difficult.
Twenty-one states have no legal requirements that a
seller disclose a property’s history of flood damage
to a buyer. The other 29 states and Washington, D.C., have a variety of disclosure
requirements, but some of them can actually make it harder for buyers to find out about a house’s flood history.
The best strategy for potential buyers: Look at FEMA’s flood history maps, but know that they are
only a starting point. A more low-tech option: Introduce yourself
to your prospective neighbors and ask them about flooding in the area.
This Highlands, N.J. home was elevated prior to Hurricane Sandy
and received only minor damage. For repeatedly flooded homes,
relocation may be the best option. But a wide array of measures exist
to prevent or reduce flood damage to structures when relocation is
not possible.

Read Google’s guide on how to set up your DKIM, SPF and DMARC, which
are the standard authentications for emails. Without that,
messages sent from your domain are more likely to be marked as spam by receiving mail servers.
Bonus: Warm up your email account. Even if your domain and inbox are set up perfectly, a mail server can still misclassify your
outreach efforts. Over time these misclassifications will damage your domain reputation as well as the overall health
of your inbox, which is why an email warming tool can be helpful
to improve your email outreach campaigns. By using an email warming up service, your account will automatically engage
with other users and participate in positive inbox behavior.

This will continuously improve the reputation and deliverability of your inbox, ultimately keeping your important messages out of spam
folders. Go further by reading our best practices before sending a mail merge
with Gmail. How can I check if my emails are spam?
