As part of marketing automation, email marketing automation is the practice of creating triggered,
relevant, personalized emails for individual contacts to be sent based on pre-defined time and
user action. For example, when you sign up for a blog newsletter, the action of signing up triggers a welcome email
to be sent to your inbox. Why do you need email
automation for your business? Email remains an effective method for nurturing leads.
Drip emails are the way to build long-term relationships
with your subscribers feeding them with relevant content at the right time.
Some marketers mistake the word “automation” and consider email automation a
robot that repeats the same task every single time. In fact, email
automation offers many opportunities to customize email content,
but just at a larger scale. Lastly, your email automation system is a sort of mini
CRM. It is the place where you manage your email list and keep things
organized. Without email automation software you’d be keeping your contacts in messy excel sheets.

The unsubscribe link is usually placed at the end of the email.
However, you need to be super careful when clicking links in spam emails.

Ideally, you should only click on unsubscribe if you have
subscribed to it yourself or if you trust the email address
or you can simply block them. The second way is to simply mark the email as “Spam”.
If you find an email is not reliable, you can mark it as
spam or junk and your email service provider will automatically perceive it as spam and
will block it from entering your inbox in the future. This also trains the spam filter of your ESP or email client.
Your email service provider would already have a built-in spam filter that filters out spam emails You
can even set the preferences for spam filtering.
For example, in Gmail, you can set preferences like setting
values and words that will help the spam filter recognize what to filter and
what to not.

Accounting for these activities while bearing in mind my
overarching research goals means acknowledging the forces through which divisions
of labour are exercised. This introduces methodological challenges of scale.
Some of the design activities related to IndieWeb can operate at a personal scale, especially given IndieWeb’s call
for people to build for themselves, and yet individual projects still
take place in a larger community and integrate with both
IndieWeb’s technical infrastructure and larger Internet systems.
These questions of scale become especially important with regard to longer-term maintenance because components in this
system are updated, changed, or removed as time passes. To address these areas, this study incorporates multiple methods.

Namely, conventional ethnographic methods such as participant-observation, document analysis, and interviews; critical making (Ratto
2011) as a vehicle for auto-ethnographic analysis; and both
qualitative and computational analyses of archived interactional data such as chat logs and software development
logs. In the same sense that I view IndieWeb as a data outcropping of a broader phenomenon, I have selected specific sites of my data collection as data outcroppings suitable for understanding the activities and power
relationships that shape IndieWeb’s construction and maintenance across these scales.
