In order to extend the Firestone subsidiary's brand consciousness, Bridgestone Firestone NAH Ltd, re–entered the Firestone model into CART IndyCar open–wheel racing in 1995 to problem Goodyear. The tires proved higher and Goodyear retired for 2000. Since then, Firestone has been the only tire supplier for the renamed and disappeared Champ Car, the IndyCar Series and its feeder collection Firestone Indy Lights till 2013.
