Last modified: 10 Nov 2014, 5:15:37 UTC Hi, I'm having a lot of issues attaching new systems to Asteroid@ !? Existing systems has a lot of "download errors" and on a new system which I'm trying to connect/attach to project right now, has issues as well. I've been trying to read about it, but I can't. The website/forum halts. I succeeded in making a post here, so the servers/the site can't be completely off the grid. Anyone who can tell me if there's some kind of system update going on?? ;) 244 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 06:04:08 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 243 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 06:04:08 Reporting 9 completed tasks 242 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 06:04:08 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 241 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 06:04:06 update requested by user 240 SETI@home 10-11-2014 05:43:10 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 239 SETI@home 10-11-2014 05:43:08 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 238 SETI@home 10-11-2014 05:43:08 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 237 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:41:04 Starting task ps_141020_326060_4_1 236 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:41:04 Starting task ps_141020_326060_3_1 235 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:41:04 Finished download of libcudart.so.5.5 234 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:39 Giving up on download of input_325549_6: permanent HTTP error 233 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:37 Started download of input_325549_6 232 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:37 Giving up on download of input_325583_2: permanent HTTP error 231 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:35 Started download of input_325583_2 230 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:35 Giving up on download of input_325645_2: permanent HTTP error 229 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:33 Started download of input_325645_2 228 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:33 Giving up on download of input_325649_1: permanent HTTP error 227 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:31 Started download of input_325649_1 226 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:31 Giving up on download of input_325763_2: permanent HTTP error 225 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:29 Started download of input_325763_2 224 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:29 Giving up on download of input_325816_4: permanent HTTP error 223 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:27 Started download of input_325816_4 222 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:27 Giving up on download of input_325816_7: permanent HTTP error 221 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:23 Started download of input_325816_7 220 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:23 Giving up on download of input_326028_2: permanent HTTP error 219 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:21 Started download of input_326028_2 218 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:21 Giving up on download of input_326033_5: permanent HTTP error 217 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:19 Started download of input_326033_5 216 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:19 Finished download of input_326060_4 215 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:16 Started download of input_326060_4 214 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:16 Finished download of input_326060_3 213 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:14 Started download of input_326060_3 212 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:40:14 Finished download of period_search_10112_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__cuda55 211 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:39:58 Started download of libcudart.so.5.5 210 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:39:58 Started download of period_search_10112_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu__cuda55 209 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:39:56 Scheduler request completed: got 11 new tasks 208 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:39:00 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 207 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:39:00 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 206 10-11-2014 05:38:50 (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 205 10-11-2014 05:38:50 max disk usage: 46.96GB 204 10-11-2014 05:38:50 max memory usage when idle: 3512.91MB 203 10-11-2014 05:38:50 max memory usage when active: 1951.62MB 202 10-11-2014 05:38:50 Preferences: 201 10-11-2014 05:38:50 Reading preferences override file 200 10-11-2014 05:38:50 General prefs: using separate prefs for work 199 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:38:50 Computer location: work 198 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:38:50 General prefs: from Asteroids@home (last modified 03-Oct-2014 11:22:00) 197 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:38:50 New computer location: work 196 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:38:50 Scheduler request completed 195 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:37:54 Not requesting tasks: don't need 194 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:37:54 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 193 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 05:37:53 update requested by user

db_purge was down for three days and yesterday the whole system. Needs some time to re-stabilize. A lot of finished wu's waited for upload and reporting; system was running at 100% and I'm shure a lot of uploads failed, which increased the workload. Give it a day or so and retry it then. |

Hi Alexander ;) Thanks for your help!! Yes, the system seems to run right now. The site is anyway. But I'm still having problems getting work and uploading work. Actually I've been wondering about this. Since the system was changed to continuously uploading of completed jobs there has been issues. Could it be because of the increased number of "server contacts" e.g. "project update", "work uploads" etc. etc.??? I'll give it a few days and then we'll see how things goes. Thanks for the help ;) 550 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:54 Project has no tasks available 549 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:54 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 548 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:52 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 547 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:52 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 546 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:42 Project has no tasks available 545 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:42 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 544 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:40 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 543 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:40 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 542 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:50:36 update requested by user 541 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:24 Project has no tasks available 540 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:24 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 539 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:22 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 538 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:22 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 537 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:12 Project has no tasks available 536 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:12 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 535 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:11 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 534 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:11 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 533 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:49:10 update requested by user 532 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:36 Project has no tasks available 531 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:36 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 530 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:34 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 529 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:34 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 528 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:24 Project has no tasks available 527 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:24 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 526 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:23 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 525 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:23 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 524 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:48:20 update requested by user 523 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:40 Project has no tasks available 522 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:40 Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 521 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:39 Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 520 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:39 Reporting 1 completed tasks 519 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:39 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 518 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:36 Finished upload of ps_141020_326089_6_2_0 517 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:24 Started upload of ps_141020_326089_6_2_0 516 Asteroids@home 10-11-2014 16:40:22 Computation for task ps_141020_326089_6_2 finished Project Headless CLI Linux Multiple GPU Boinc Servers Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 64bit Kernel 3.13.0-32-generic CPU's i5-4690K GPU's GT640/GTX750TI Nvidia v.340.29 BOINC v.7.2.42 |

Last modified: 13 Nov 2014, 1:09:52 UTC Hi Bilbg, Upload jobs when done, right away, rather than wait until all the downloaded jobs are done Can't remember which version it was. 7.0.xx Maybe it's this, not sure.. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/VersionHistory Fix: Various changes to CPU and GPU scheduling and work-fetch. Seem to be getting a lot of download errors for the last few hours. Anyone know if there's a problem with the datasets being sent out? He does not have the best internet connection right now, he had to move his setup a month or so ago and is now running it out of his apartment. He will move it to a better place again in the future. |

Last modified: 21 Mar 2015, 6:25:36 UTC That's the same error the rest of us are getting. See the news thread "New WU". Basically most of the WU on the server are missing and when it tries to download they fail or are the wrong size. Dingo, I'd suggest you take your Pi2 over to Einstein. If you update to Jessie you'll be able use a later BOINC client that reports CPU features so you can get the Neon optimised app. The 7.0.27 that Wheezy has is too old. Jessie has 7.4.23 in the repo. I've been having a similar problem. Of my last 60 workunits, one completed and validated, one completed and is waiting for validation, and the rest gave Error while downloading. Is the project accomplishing anything useful with such a high rate of Error while downloading?

In the News section under New Worlunits Kyong has posted what he found and is doing about this problem. |
