Kyong has mentioned they're getting another server (hopefully a storage one). Not sure what time frame they are looking at though.

From the server status page I understand they have a couple of general purpose servers (IBM x3550 M4's) with 8 x 2.5 inch drive bays. They use expensive SAS disks that only go up to 600GB each but have higher spindle speed (10k RPM). Great for a database or compute server but not so good for storage.

Hi, we are currently waiting for a response from seller so I hope it won't take too long. The new server configuration should be very simillar but there will be 8x2.4 TB disks. This server will be used as storage for processed/unprocessed WUs so it should solve the disk space problem and project should have continuous work.

The database is running on server "project2" which is dedicated only for database and has enough space for it. db_purge is storing older database records at compressed files to server "project1" so it just stops working if there is not enough space for storing it. Those files take very little space so they are not causing the problems and database is still working correctly. If database would crash due to free space or other problems then forum would be unavailable. Only asteroidsathome.net (not /boinc) would work because this is running on server "project1".

I can confirm that I cannot upload again because the server's disk space is out. Also, the db_purge process is not running again.

the main system. is chewing thu wu. after it gets down with its current batch I will not do any more task. due to it will request data from server.

Upload is starting to work again. Might require hitting 'retry' a few times, but at least something is happening.
