Asteroids devs:

I wanted to report that I saw an issue where a Task looked like it was stuck -- it was showing 100% progress, using 100% of a CPU core, but 0% of my GTX 660 Ti GPU, for over a day (28 hours I think).

I even tried closing BOINC and reopening it, but the task started at 0 again and again used CPU but no GPU. So I aborted it. I saved the files in case you are interested in them.

Any ideas what happened?

I know about this problem, some workunits hang when calculating 10th pole and hang with never ending cycle (100% CPU usage). Now I'm waiting for Visual Studio 2013 to debug nvidia code. I have one workunit prepared for debug with this problem. This bug is very often on RTX cards.

Thank you for the reply. My system has 3 GPUs - GTX 970, GTX 660 Ti, GTX 660 Ti. And the Task was 225227233 (so you can get inputs maybe). And I have the files too, if needed.

I have a GT730 and it is doing the same thing

This has caused several people, possibly many people to waste huge amounts of CPU time. I've had nothing back from my report or message, seems like dumping the project was the best option, so, dumped from my systems.

Can the admins please provide an update? If they can't fix it, can they isolate it, to stop sending tasks that waste resources?

Many CPU hours wasted.

I'll restart this project when the problem is reported fixed.

I seam to have had the same problem... Task had been running 13 hrs and was at 100% complete but GPU was idle. I suspended the task and then resumed and it reset to 0% complete and started running again. Have aborted the task and suspended the project till a solution is posted.

P.S. - the passive aggressive part.

ASTEROIDS db_purge is down AND w/u are out also.

Period Search Application 102.10 (sse3) ps_181108_input_31762_3_6 In place of 2 hour to 2.5 hour its currently at 2 day 23:35:33. This is the second one. First one I deleated, just noticed both are running slot0, both were at 100%. I'll leave current one running in case you need to check it out.
