I am wondering if the project has been taken down by Russian hackers or something, and people here are flaming Radim and the project when they are actually victims. Hard to know what is really going on nowadays.

I am not just all about the credits but I am really tired of wasting CPU power on projects that have server issues and then the completed work gets rejected after they solve THEIR issues. The work was done in good faith, and stiffing us on the bill shouldnt even be an option.

Same for WU's that run for 4+ days and have an 'error'--those 4 days of CPU time given to that project are worthless. Just because it failed doesnt mean that you didnt get the CPU time you were promised. Reciprocation would seem to be in order.

I want to help, I really do. I contribute heavily to 15 different projects. But not when I feel like I am getting shafted.

So, taken in the aggregate, this thread alone accounts for thousands of WUs, many thousands of hours, a lot of electricity and a whole bunch of pissed off crunchers. Considering those who don't post to this thread, the total number must be huge.

This project might crash and vanish into the void like all wayward asteroids.

RADIM VANCO, WAKE UP!!

Reading all your messages I feel lucky to have just 3 tasks stuck uploading. Does anyone know if tweaking something on boincstats/bam would help? Or it's just a matter of setting the project to no new tasks & wait?

Same issue here.

25 projects still waiting to be delivered and going to be rejected.

Project set to no new task.

I hope this issue will find an end soon!

I feel the same way. The least you (The Institution and/or Project manager) can do is keep us informed. I have no problem if you tell me it will take three weeks to fix things, as long as I know what to expect.

Wasn't this project running out of disk space years ago? Don't we get terrabytes for cheap in 2020? Mind boggling. Losing hundreds of WU dying on deadline waiting to upload this week (again). BYE

I'm in the same boat as everyone else... can't upload completed tasks.

I've suspended this project for now until the issue has been corrected.

Although "Server outage resolved" was posted ~2 hours ago, my completed tasks are still not uploading. I have suspended remaining tasks until uploads are completed.

It seems like Radim went on holiday. My 130+ work units have now timed out. It would have been nice to get the 70,000 or so points credit instead of wasting the electricity. Not accepting work from this project anymore until it runs reliably. Not worth it.

I'm just like you all. I had to suspend the project because the problem was not solved and the calculated tasks could not be sent to the server ...

A little sad. I've done WUs worth 1,3 million points for Asteroids@home. Kind of like the project idea still. It's annoying though to see thousands of finished WUs go to waste and having 17 of them sitting idle at my machine. For minor reasons? Who knows?

Witnessing this lack of care, I prefer to calculate other projects for now.

I had to delete 9 WUs on one tablet. I have also had to "no new tasks" on two other tablets and my desktop. Yes it's frustrating.

As of this date, 20200712, as best I can tell the outage has not been resolved. The last task I received was on 20200618. No tasks have been able to upload since 20200611. As of today I have aborted all transfers and completed tasks since they were piling up. I am currently considering removing this project. Let me know if anything is resolved.

Thanks,
Terry

Enough is enough. I am about to wipe-out my expired tasks and will do so in 24 hours if this project is not fixed or we get some response for the people supposedly running this project. You currently have only 54 users in the last 24 hours and it will then become 53 and I would urge all users to bring it down to zero and kill this poor excuse for a project.

It's 7/12 Still problems with uploading WUs and Malwarebytes still wants to block the site due to a Trojan. I've had Asteroids@home for years but they're kind of scaring me with the deafening silence. Guess I'll just suspend for a few months or until it's addressed and, hopefully, fixed.

I am very sorry for this, I just really didn't have much time to check the forum. I was checking it now and noticed the problem. When I fixed the previous problems I was testing everything except uploading which I really didn't think to be a problem. BOINC server just didn't create a new log which should be done automatically due to which it was unable to upload finished work. I just created it and I can see in the log file that upload is running. I hope this was the last problem. There just might be some short timeouts now because network has very high load now but when all work will be uploaded it should be good.
